Unique way to rememeber vedic concepts through a vedic clock..

Vedic clock is a uniquely designed clock which represents vedic concepts of creation with varying number of time number it represents. The world first Vedic clock will be installed in Ujjain at the Mahakal Loka. This unique clock will be used to calculate timing of hindu festivities.

It calculates time on the basis of sunrise, it can also be used in the calculation of Muhurtas (Brahma Muhurta, Rahu Kaal, Grahans etc.) and other work related to time. The Vedic Clock will be connected to the internet and GPS, due to which it can be used anywhere on earth.

In this clocks, all number from 1 to 12 are given unique names which signify a concept of vedic creation or solar principles. For 12, it is called as Aditya as we have 12 adityas or sun which make up the entire Brahmanda.

For 1, Brahma is written, meaning that Brahma is only one.

For 2, Ashwin is written instead of Two which represents Ashwini Kumars - Nastya and Drastra.

In place of 3, it is written Triguna which means there are three types of gunas - satoguna, rajoguna and tamoguna also called Sattva,Rajas and Tamas.

In place of 4, Chaturveda is written, meaning there are four Vedas - Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda.

In place of 5, Panchprana is written, which means that there are five types of prana - prana,apana, samana, udana and vyana. These all are Mahaprana which constitue to Tejas.

In place of 6,Shadrasa is written, which means there are 6 types of rasa - salty,sweet, sour, bitter, pungent and astringent.

In place of 7, it is written Saptarshayah, meaning there are 7 celestial sages - Vishwamitra, Gautam, Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadwaja, Jamadagni and Vasistha.

In place of 8, it is written Ashta Siddhi, meaning that there are eight types of siddhis - Anima, Garima, Ishitva, Laghima, Mahima, Prapti, Prakamya and Vashitva.

In place of 9,Navdravyani Abhiyan is written, meaning that there are 9 types of funds - Padma, Mahapadma, Neel, Shankha, Mukunda, Nanda, Makara, Kachhapa, Kharva.

In place of 10,Dashdishah is written, which means that the directions are 10 - East, West, North, South, Ishaanaya[N-E], Agneya[S-E], Nairuitya[S-W], Vayavya[N-W], Akasha[Heavens], Patala[Hell].

In place of 11, it is written as Rudra, meaning that there are 11 types of Rudra known as Ekadashi Rudra - Kapali, Pingala, Bhima, Virupaksha, Vilohit, Shasta, Ajapada, Ahirbudhnya, Shambhu, Chanda and Bhava.

In place of 12, it is Indra, Amsa, Aryaman, Bhaga, Dhatri, Tvastha, Mitra, Pushan, Savitra, Vivasvan, Varuna, Vishnu.

This constitutes the Vedic Ghadi, it can be used to remember some important vedic concepts, but this can be used only when the clock strick exactly at whole numbers. To tell an uneven time, we use our current time convention. In sanskrit, time is read in a different manner as we have different name for Devanagari numberals which will be covered in a separate post.
