Read about the sutras which gave birth to the Samskrutam language.
Sage Panini is often coined as the Father of Samskrutam Grammar and Samskrutam-based computational linguistics. His guru was Sage Varshacharya and he was born in Shalatur-Gandahar Region which is in Present day Afghanistan. He studied at Takshashila University and lived somewhere between the 7th to 4th centuries BC.
He has authored many books like Ashtadhyayi, Dhatupatha, Linganushasan, Ghanapatha, and many more. Samskrutam grammar also called Vyakarana is one of the 6 Vedangas or limbs of Vedas. If someone needs to study the holy Vedas or just understand basic Samskrutam, Panini's asthadhyayi is the first book that is studied.
Asthadhyayi can be split into two words, Astha meaning 8 and adhyayi meaning Chapters. The asthadhyayi has 8 chapters with each further divided into quarters, which makes 32 Padas or 8 chapters. It consists of around 4000 sutras which detail everything you need to know about the Samskrutam language.
It is written in the form of Sutras, which are small texts (Under 30 letters) where these sutras are organized into a single unit known as Prakharan. Sutras are the best way to explain huge concepts in the shortest way possible.
The first chapter consists of sutras written for Noun[संज्ञा ] and Paribhasha[परिभाषा], the second chapter consists of sutras for Samasa[समास] and Karaka[कारक], the third chapter consists of sutras written for Kridanta[कृदन्त] words, chapter 4 & 5 have sutras for Taddhit[तध्दित] related words, chapter 6 & 7 have sutras written for Tinga[तिङ्] and Sup[सुप्] related words and last chapter is for Sandhi[सन्धि].
