Puja begins with meditation of Devi Durga – perform Dhyana Mudra (palms in lap, right hand on top of left, thumbs touching) while meditating before the installed Shri Devi Murti and recite the prescribed Mantra
सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थसाधिके ।
शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके गौरि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
ब्रह्मरूपे सदानन्दे परमानन्दस्वरूपिणि ।
द्रुतसिद्धिप्रदे देवि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
शरणागतदीनार्तपरित्राणपरायणे ।
सर्वस्यार्त्तिहरे देवि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
O Auspicious One of all auspiciousness, O Shiva’s consort, fulfiller of all purposes, O refuge, O three-eyed Gauri, O Nārāyaṇī, salutations to You. O Divine Mother, embodiment of Brahman, eternal bliss, supreme joy, and giver of quick accomplishments – O Nārāyaṇī, salutations to You. O Protectress of the distressed and helpless, O destroyer of all sorrows, O compassionate one – O Nārāyaṇī, salutations to You.
After Dhyana of Devi Durga, chant the prescribed Mantra in front of the Murti while showing Avahan Mudra (palms joined, thumbs folded inward) to invite Devi Durga
After invoking Goddess Durga, take five flowers in Anjali (joining both palms) and place them before the Murti to offer Asana while reciting the prescribed Mantra
After Arghya offering, offer water to Goddess Durga for Achamana while chanting the prescribed Mantra
आचम्यतां त्वया देवि भक्तिं मे ह्यचलां कुरु ।
ईप्सितं मे वरं देहि परत्र च परां गतिम् ॥
ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः दुर्गादेव्यै नमः आचमनीयं जलं समर्पयामि ॥
PADACHEDA
आचम्यताम् त्वया देवि भक्तिम् मे हि अचलाम् कुरु ईप्सितम् मे वरम् देहि परत्र च पराम् गतिम् ओम् भूः भुवः स्वर् दुर्गा-देव्यै नमः आचमनीयम् जलम् समर्पयामि ।

O Devi, may You perform Achamana (sipping water); bless me with unwavering devotion and liberation.
TRANSLITERATION
ācamyatām tvayā devi bhaktim me hi acalām kuru īpsitam me varam dehi paratra ca parām gatim om bhūḥ bhuvaḥ svar durgā-devyai namaḥ ācamanīyam jalam samarpayāmi .

रञ्जिताः कुङ्कुम-ओद्येन न अक्षताः च अति शोभनाः मम एषाम् देवि दानेन प्रसन्ना भव शोभने ओम् भूः भुवः स्वर् दुर्गा-देव्यै नमः अक्षतान् समर्पयामि ।

ENGLISH MEANING
I offer unbroken rice grains anointed with Kumkuma, symbolizing prosperity.
TRANSLITERATION
rañjitāḥ kuṅkuma-odyena na akṣatāḥ ca ati śobhanāḥ mama eṣām devi dānena prasannā bhava śobhane om bhūḥ bhuvaḥ svar durgā-devyai namaḥ akṣatān samarpayāmi .

O Divine Mother, I have sincerely performed three circumambulations (Pradakshina) around You. O pure and holy Goddess Ambika, I bow to You with devotion. – I offer this Pradakshina to Goddess Durga.

अपराधशतं देवि मत्कृतं च दिने दिने ।

O Divine Mother, countless mistakes may have been committed by me daily, knowingly or unknowingly. O pure one, O Queen of the Gods, please forgive me. I bow to You. – I pray to Goddess Durga to forgive my offenses.
