om asya śrī-durgā-saptaślokī-stotra-mahāmantrasya nārāyaṇaḥ ṛṣiḥ . anuṣṭubh-ādīni chandāṃsi . śrī-mahākālī-mahālakṣmī-mahāsarasvatyaḥ devatāḥ . śrī-jagadambā-prīti-artha-pāṭhe viniyogaḥ ..

ENGLISH MEANING

1: Om, this Sri Durga Saptashloki Stotra Maha Mantra ... 2: ... which is composed by Sri Narayana Rishi, is in Anusthup and other Metres. 3: This Maha Mantra is dedicated to the goddesses Sri Mahakali, Sri Mahalakshmi and Sri Mahasaraswati, 4: This Maha Mantra is meant to be recited to please the Jagadamba

ज्ञानिनामपि चेतांसि देवी भगवती हि सा । बलादाकृष्य मोहाय महामाया प्रयच्छति ॥१॥

PADACHEDA

ज्ञानिनाम् अपि चेतांसि देवी भगवती हि सा । बलात् आकृष्य मोहाय महामाया प्रयच्छति ॥१॥

TRANSLITERATION

jñāninām api cetāṃsi devī bhagavatī hi sā . balāt ākṛṣya mohāya mahāmāyā prayacchati ..1..

ENGLISH MEANING

1.1: Salutations to You, O Jagadamba,Even the consciousness of the Jnanis (Spiritually-Evolved souls), Devi Bhagavati ... 1.2: ...the Mahamaya, by Her Power, attract towards Moha (Delusion).
Shloka 3
दुर्गे स्मृता हरसि भीतिमशेषजन्तोः स्वस्थैः स्मृता मतिमतीव शुभां ददासि । दारिद्रयदुःखभयहारिणि का त्वदन्या सर्वोपकारकरणाय सदार्द्र चित्ता ॥२॥

PADACHEDA

दुर्गे स्मृता हरसि भीतिम् अशेष-जन्तोः स्वस्थैः स्मृता मतिमती इव शुभाम् ददासि । दारिद्रय-दुःख-भय-हारिणि का त्वद्-अन्या सर्व-उपकार-करणाय सदा आर्द्र चित्ता ॥२॥

TRANSLITERATION

durge smṛtā harasi bhītim aśeṣa-jantoḥ svasthaiḥ smṛtā matimatī iva śubhām dadāsi . dāridraya-duḥkha-bhaya-hāriṇi kā tvad-anyā sarva-upakāra-karaṇāya sadā ārdra cittā ..2..

ENGLISH MEANING

2.1: Salutations to You, O Jagadamba, O Devi Durga, Whoever Remembers You with Devotion, You Remove the endless Fears of Samsara from the mind of that Person, 2.2: (And) Whoever Meditates on You in their Heart, You bestow exceeding Auspiciousness, 2.3: O Mother, Apart from You, Who else can destroy Poverty, Sorrow and Fear from our Lives?, 2.4: Your Heart is always full of Compassion for rendering all sorts of Help to Your Devotees.

सर्वमंगलमांगल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थसाधिके । शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके गौरि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥३॥

PADACHEDA

सर्व-मंगल-मांगल्ये शिवे सर्व-अर्थ-साधिके । शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके गौरि नारायणि नमः अस्तु ते ॥३॥

TRANSLITERATION

sarva-maṃgala-māṃgalye śive sarva-artha-sādhike . śaraṇye tryambake gauri nārāyaṇi namaḥ astu te ..3..

ENGLISH MEANING

3.1: Salutations to You, O Jagadamba, O the Auspiciousness in all the Auspicious, Auspiciousness Herself and fulfiller of all the Objectives of the Devotees.., 3.2: O the giver of Refuge, with Three Eyes (spanning the Past, Present and Future;), the Gauri (Shining One); Salutations to You O Narayani.
Shloka 5
शरणागतदीनार्तपरित्राणपरायणे । सर्वस्यार्तिहरे देवि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥४॥

PADACHEDA

शरण-आगत-दीन-आर्त-परित्राण-परायणे । सर्वस्य आर्ति-हरे देवि नारायणि नमः अस्तु ते ॥४॥

TRANSLITERATION

śaraṇa-āgata-dīna-ārta-paritrāṇa-parāyaṇe . sarvasya ārti-hare devi nārāyaṇi namaḥ astu te ..4..

ENGLISH MEANING

4.1: Salutations to You, O Jagadamba, You are Intent upon Rescuing the Distressed and the Oppressed who take Your Refuge whole-heartedly, ... 4.2: ... and Remove All their Sufferings; Salutations to You O Narayani.
Shloka 6
सर्वस्वरूपे सर्वेशे सर्वशक्तिसमन्विते । भयेभ्यस्त्राहि नो देवि दुर्गे देवि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥५॥

PADACHEDA

सर्व-स्वरूपे सर्व-ईशे सर्व-शक्ति-समन्विते । भयेभ्यः त्राहि नः देवि दुर्गे देवि नमः अस्तु ते ॥५॥

TRANSLITERATION

sarva-svarūpe sarva-īśe sarva-śakti-samanvite . bhayebhyaḥ trāhi naḥ devi durge devi namaḥ astu te ..5..

ENGLISH MEANING

5.1: Salutations to You, O Jagadamba, You Exist in All Forms of All Gods, and You are the Possessor of All Powers, 5.2: O Devi, Please Protect us from all Fears; Salutations to You, O Durga Devi.
Shloka 7
रोगानशेषानपहंसि तुष्टा रुष्टा तु कामान् सकलानभीष्टान् । त्वामाश्रितानां न विपन्नराणां त्वामाश्रिता ह्याश्रयतां प्रयान्ति ॥६॥

PADACHEDA

रोगान् अशेषान् अपहंसि तुष्टा रुष्टा तु कामान् सकलान् अभीष्टान् । त्वाम् आश्रितानाम् न विपद्-नराणाम् त्वाम् आश्रिताः हि आश्रय-ताम् प्रयान्ति ॥६॥

TRANSLITERATION

rogān aśeṣān apahaṃsi tuṣṭā ruṣṭā tu kāmān sakalān abhīṣṭān . tvām āśritānām na vipad-narāṇām tvām āśritāḥ hi āśraya-tām prayānti ..6..

ENGLISH MEANING

6.1: Salutations to You, O Jagadamba, When You are Pleased with our Devotion, You Destroy all our (worldly) Diseases; but if You are Displeased with us (for any reason), You destroy all our Aspirations and Wishes, 6.2: By Your Refuge, Men cannot go Astray and no Misfortunes can finally overcome them; Your Refuge indeed is the final Refuge that one attains
Shloka 8
सर्वाबाधाप्रशमनं त्रैलोक्यस्याखिलेश्वरि । एवमेव त्वया कार्यमस्मद्वैरि विनाशनम् ॥७॥

। एवम् एव त्वया कार्यम् अस्मद्-वैरि विनाशनम् ॥७॥

TRANSLITERATION

. evam eva tvayā kāryam asmad-vairi vināśanam ..7..
