ध्यानं/dhyānam

केतुं करालवदनं चित्रवर्णं किरीटिनम् । प्रणमामि सदा केतुं ध्वजाकारं ग्रहेश्वरम् ॥ 1 ॥
ketum karalavadanam chitravarnam kiritinam । pranamami sada ketum dhvajakaram grahesvaram ॥ 1 ॥
I always salute Kethu, who has a face filled with horror, Who is of multiple colors, has a crown, is shaped like a flag, and is the Lord of planets.

अथ केतु कवचम् /matha ketu kavacham

चित्रवर्णः शिरः पातु भालं धूम्रसमद्युतिः । पातु नेत्रे पिङ्गलाक्षः श्रुती मे रक्तलोचनः ॥ 2 ॥
chitravarnah sirah patu bhalam dhumrasamadyutih । patu netre pingalaksah sruti me raktalochanah ॥ 2 ॥
Let the multicolored one protect my head, Let my hair be protected by he who produces smoke, Let my eyes be protected by one with the reddish brown eye, And let what I hear be protected by he who has red blood eyes.

घ्राणं पातु सुवर्णाभश्चिबुकं सिंहिकासुतः । पातु कण्ठं च मे केतुः स्कन्धौ पातु ग्रहाधिपः ॥ 3 ॥
ghranam patu suvarnabhaschibukam simhikasutah । patu kantham cha me ketuh skandhau patu grahadhipah ॥ 3 ॥
Let my smell be protected by him who shines like gold, Let my chin be protected by the son of Simhika, Let my neck and feet be protected by Kethu, And let the lord of planets protect my shoulder.
हस्तौ पातु सुरश्रेष्ठः कुक्षिं पातु महाग्रहः । सिंहासनः कटिं पातु मध्यं पातु महासुरः ॥ 4 ॥
hastau patu surasresthah kuksim patu mahagrahah । simhasanah katim patu madhyam patu mahasurah ॥ 4 ॥
Let my arms be protected by the chief of devas, Let the great planet protect my belly, Let my hip be protected by he who sits on the throne, And let the great asura protect my middle.
ऊरू पातु महाशीर्षो जानुनी मेऽतिकोपनः । पातु पादौ च मे क्रूरः सर्वाङ्गं नरपिङ्गलः ॥ 5 ॥
uru patu mahasirso januni me'tikopanah । patu padau cha me krurah sarvangam narapingalah ॥ 5 ॥
Let my thighs be protected by the great head, Let my knees be protected by him with great anger, Let my feet be protected by the cruel one, And let all my parts of body be protected by the reddish brown god.

फलश्रुतिः/phalaśrutih

य इदं कवचं दिव्यं सर्वरोगविनाशनम् । सर्वशत्रुविनाशं च धारणाद्विजयी भवेत् ॥ 6 ॥
ya idam kavacham divyam sarvarogavinasanam । sarvasatruvinasam cha dharanadvijayi bhavet ॥ 6 ॥
This holy armour destroys all diseases, Destroys all enemies and, Once worn will make you victorious.

॥ इति श्रीब्रह्माण्डपुराणे केतुकवचं सम्पूर्णम् ॥
॥ iti sribrahmanḍapurane ketukavacham sampurnam ॥
